I’ll get right to the useful stuff first. There are no-see-ums already! In North Wash and a couple of other places I have experienced what can only be regarded as “intense swarming”. The Naturepel(sp?)was maybe slightly better than the widely reviled DEET concoctions, but I had on both so who knows?. Your mileage will assuredly vary, but I’m heading to other locales next trip;-)
Did South Fork of Maidenwater in pretty low water on the 12th. Short wades to mid thigh. Trail had normal water. It was good to see Harv again. Ram put on another fantastic trip on Lake Powell. Some fresh ground was covered and a major project nearly completed. Some new stuff scouted and a few classics repeated or skipped, at individual participant’s discretion. Good times were had by all in spite of 50 mph winds for most of the day on the 18th. Thanks to everyone for a special experience.
Met 3 new Canyons E-Group lurkers on this trip. Jon, Matt and Jim. That’s always nice. It’s good to see you all out there… Dave
