Wow Scott! What an amazing life you lead! Your kids look so at home in places that “modern” kids (and many adults) might only feel comfortable viewing from a distance (on a TV screen).
What a beautiful thing to introduce them to the “real” world so young, and so thoroughly. One of the quandary’s of ‘civilized’ man has been our ‘modernization’ in some respects. We’ve insulated ourselves within a bubble of mediocrity – going to work everyday in an office, plopping ourselves in front of the tube to watch other people’s lives unfold, desperately looking forward to the weekends where we can get out and touch a more profound reality than the one we live in every day.
There’s something tragically wrong with this picture! And so many people grow up disconnected from the reality that your wife and kids have always known. How lucky for them! How lucky for you (and your dad) too!
I think a spirit can’t ever really find joy (or be developed properly)without the sacred knowledge that being connected to & a part of wild places imparts. Your kids are bound to grow up to be amazing adults.
Thanks for the lovely TR and photos! Makes another dull day much more bearable!

I agree. Loved the TR and pics, and am inspired (and a little envious) by all the great experiences you have with your family!

We went for the wildlife, hiking, rafting and caves, but ended up falling in love with the people. It was a great experience. Never have I been treated as well as I was while traveling overseas as an American.”

Scott, Great stuff. Not OT for me at all. People make up a forum and expression of varied perspectives is essential for sustainability (in my pov). This in particular moved me:
