Here are some photos a person in our group took from my recent West canyon trip:

Some nice pictures, but remember that none of these are of the upper slot since everyone was having too much fun to remember to take pictures.

In addition to printing the coordinates of a few tasty waypoints, posting the waypoint file from Topo! on your website (with a link to it on the main page) would be helpful to us Topo! users.

While Kelsey’s description and maps for West canyon are pretty good, navigating the “up and around” route from the camp spot to the drop in spot for the upper narrows can be tricky. Before the trip I mapped out a route with waypoints in the Topo mapping software using Kelsey’s hand-drawn map as a guide. I then loaded the route and waypoints into my GPS which I took on the trip. While a few of the waypoints were a bit off, the GPS was a big help in navigating. After the trip, I uploaded my track (the path I had actually traveled) and a few new waypoints I had recorded “in the field”. I then tweaked the route and waypoints based on this “from the field” data to improve accuracy. Now how do I share this data?
My plan is to publish the list of waypoints and some maps with the waypoints plotted on them (as JPEG images) with a few notes to my website for all to access. But I’d be happy to have the info published on other sites to improve dissemination. I hope to have my webapge up in a few days.
