Between Tom Jones and I, we now have two water anchors. The advantages of Tom’s; it is inexpensive and simple but needs field testing. Mine is a bit complex and needs a couple of alterations but was successful in the first field test. It was a thrilling moment to see the water pour down the rock face followed by the gentle pull down of the whole system! Right guys? Leave not a trace but a wet smear? Very cool. I figure by November (if not before), anyone with an interest will have access to plans, photos and/or samples to play with. Both systems work best as an insert into the SandTrap with a couple of small loops added on.
More on this later. Tom? What say you?
For now, is there someone in the SLC area with an industrial sewing machine that I could use for a couple of hours? Could I sit in your space or dictate as you sew? First few days of Sept. or the end of August?
Please contact me on the side if you can help.
Anyone else out there with some nifty new system to share with the group? Or maybe a new twist on an old system? Any other water anchor solutions?

I was present at the testing of the 2 systems and it was amazing. I suspect they will be viewable on film soon. The best news? The safety margin between what gets rapped on and the ease of pull is large. Even larger than the sandtrap proper. Originally I looked on this anchoring as filling a niche. A hole in present anchoring methods. That pothole edge, with the pot filled with water and nothing else available. Now I suspect it might get used at times when other anchoring options are available simply because it might prove faster and easier to rig, and of course, safe. Kudos to Jenny and Tom. R
