Woody Canyon Conditions?

Anyone been in the Woodruff Canyon system of late? I am wondering what the water levels are like, particularly in Woody. Also, if anyone has been there, what was the condition of the rock – slick, moist, and sandy I am guessing…? Cheers to the first 80 degree weekend!

  • Woody had lots of water, on March 16th, but was not full, so it required partner assist techniques. One rap off of 2 sand bags (12 feet), several short raps off of people, with last person captured. An etrier ascended 10 feet by most. Stemmable with difficulty for others. A handful of short swims, with minor escape issues in a few pots. Water was cold and of good quality. Rock quality was fine and the walls were cleaner than most places, but still not free of grit. 4/3 full wet suits were the minimum used. Temps were in the low 60’s. Great time had by all. Below Jenny and Lisa in a pot! 😉
